Hiring - Placement Officer

Role Summary:
The Placement Officer at Uptor will be responsible for helping students and professionals secure job and internship opportunities specifically in the IT sector, by leveraging our upskilling programs. This role involves actively building and maintaining relationships with tech companies, understanding their hiring needs, and matching them with the right talent from our trained candidates. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of the IT job market and should provide end-to-end placement support from resume review to interview readiness to maximize placement success.
Key Responsibilities: 1. Employer Relations: • Partnership Development: Build and maintain relationships with companies, including startups, tech firms, and corporate organizations, to identify internship and job opportunities. • Opportunity Identification: Work with employers to understand their hiring needs and match these with Uptor candidates. • Event Management: Organize and participate in career fairs, networking events, and recruitment drives to connect with employers and showcase Uptor’s talent pool. 2. Candidate Support: • Career Counseling: Offer guidance on job search strategies, resume building, cover letter writing, and interview preparation. • Application Support: Assist students and professionals with the application process for job and internship opportunities, ensuring they meet employer requirements. • Workshops and Training: Conduct workshops on job search skills, interview techniques, and industry-specific trends to enhance candidate readiness. 3. Placement Coordination: • Process Management: Oversee the entire placement process, from initial application to successful placement, ensuring a smooth experience for both candidates and employers. • Progress Tracking: Monitor the progress of placements and gather feedback from both candidates and employers to continually improve the process. 4. Program Development:
• Upskilling Integration: Collaborate with the Uptor team to ensure alignment between upskilling courses and market demands. • Program Improvement: Develop and implement strategies to enhance the effectiveness of placement services and improve candidate outcomes. 5. Reporting and Documentation: • Record Keeping: Maintain comprehensive records of placement activities, employer interactions, and candidate progress. • Reporting: Generate regular reports on placement success rates, market trends, and feedback to support strategic planning. 6. Collaboration: • Internal Coordination: Work with Uptor’s academic and administrative teams to alignplacement activities with educational objectives and program offerings. • Alumni Engagement: Utilize the alumni network to create additional placement opportunities and provide mentorship.
Qualifications: • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain professional relationships. • 2 to 5Years of Experience in placements, preferably in the IT domain. • Proven experience in IT placements, specifically in roles such as Data Science, Full Stack Development, and Artificial Intelligence, with a solid understanding of the tech industry’s hiring processes. • Well-connected with HR professionals and hiring managers across various companies. • Excellent organizational and project management skills. • Proficiency in career management software and tools. • Understanding of the upskilling and education landscape is advantageous. • Knowledge of industry trends and employer expectations.
